It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Nancy (Sue) Ashmore, of Garland, Texas, on September 16, 2021 following a battle with Lewy-Body Dementia. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by family and dedicated loved ones.

Sue was born on February 3, 1944 in the small town of Quanah, Texas to Lola Beatress Strickland. In 1961, she married Tommy Robert Ashmore in Dallas, Texas. Their union produced four children and 38 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Although her life was centered around her family and her love for them, she also enjoyed bowling, fishing, board games, and was the all-time winner of Scrabble. She always managed to see the good in others no matter the circumstance and made sure everyone felt warmth and comfort in her presence. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Predeceased by her husband and best friend of 38 years, Tommy Robert Ashmore, and granddaughter, Kristal Marie Ashmore; she is now lovingly remembered by her children Deborah Ashmore, Jeffrey Todd Ashmore and wife Amy Hollenbeck Ashmore, Nikki Ashmore Johnston Critz and husband Randy Critz, Tara Ashmore Seifert and husband Jason Seifert; her grandchildren: Trey Terry, Candace Johnston, Joshua Ashmore, Ryan Ashmore, Taryn Seifert, Shae Johnston, Sierra Seifert, Jacie Seifert, and Trystan Johnston; and great-grandchildren, Ana Terry and Michael Ashmore.

A Celebration of Sue's life will be held on October 30, 2021 @ 10am at Charles W. Smith and Sons in Lavon, Texas. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Charles W. Smith and Sons, 2343 Lake Lake Rd & Hwy 78, Lavon, Texas 75166.
